50 minutes from London Victoria and 20 minutes from Gatwick Airport,
both arriving at Edenbridge. From Edenbridge station you will require
a taxi, as we are located approximately 3 miles away. Local taxi numbers
can be obtained from Hotel Reception.
From the M25 Junction 6 to
Hever Hotel
From the M25 slip road roundabout, take the 3rd exit signposted for
A22/A25 SEVENOAKS/WESTERHAM. There will also be a brown tourist sign
for HEVER CASTLE.
After approximately 1 mile you will reach a large
roundabout. 1st exit will be signposted for A25 SEVENOAKS/WESTERHAM.
There will also be a brown tourist sign for HEVER CASTLE. Take the
1st exit. Follow this road through Oxted, going straight over the
mini roundabout and straight through the traffic lights at the crossroads,
with a sign for SAFEWAYS supermarket to your left and the railway
bridge above you.
After about 3 miles you will come to a second crossroads with traffic
lights.
Go straight over the crossroads. There will be a slip road to your
right with a brown tourist sign for HEVER CASTLE. Take this slip road
and turn right towards LIMPSFIELD CHART. Follow this road through
LIMPSFIELD CHART and CROCKHAM HILL until you reach EDENBRIDGE (approximately
5 miles). Follow the bypass around Edenbridge until you come to a
roundabout, with the fire station on your rigtht. Take the 2nd exit
on this roundabout. On your left HEVER ROAD with a brown tourist sign
for HEVER CASTLE shall be visible almost immediately. Take this left
turn. Follow this road until you reach a left hand turn (approximately
2 miles). There will be a bus shelter on your right and a brown tourist
sign for HEVER CASTLE. Take this left turn. HEVER CASTLE is located
half a mile up the road on the right hand side. Follow the road for
a further mile and Hever Hotel is located on the right.
From the M25 Junction 5 to
Hever Castle
At junction 5 the road splits into 4 lanes. You must take one of the
two lanes on the right. These are signposted for SEVENOAKS and HEVER
CASTLE is signposted with brown tourist signs. This will take you
off the motorway and onto the A21. All of the following directions
are signposted with brown tourist signs for HEVER CASTLE. From the
A21 take the 2nd exit signposted HILDENBOROUGH/SEVENOAKS. At the end
of the slip road there is a large roundabout. At the roundabout take
the 2nd exit signposted HILDENBOROUGH/TONBRIDGE. Approximately 1 mile
after you have exited the A21, there is a small garage on your left.
Take the right turning just after the garage. At the end of this road,
after approximately 1.5 miles, turn right, signposted LEIGH. Follow
this road through LEIGH and CHIDDINGSTONE CAUSEWAY.
After approximately 4 miles you will pass under a single lane, low
bridge. A further 1mile on, you will come to a pub called The Wheatsheaf,
on your left. At The Wheatsheaf the road bares to the right over a
bridge; do not go over the bridge, carry straight on. Hever Hotel
is located approximately 1 mile down this road on the left.
