You will be taken to the heart of our capital
city and given a morning "mini tour" of some of the major
London sights, with the afternoon free to explore this bustling city
at your own leisure. With the introduction of the "congestion
charge" for cars traveling into the capital our bus offers guests
the most economical way to visit London. In addition, with the tour
running on Sunday, you avoid the queues. The bus will collect guests
from a central point at 6pm in the evening to return to the Hotel.
The Historic Fishing Port of Rye and Leeds
Castle
No town in the kingdom conjures up the past more
than this little fishing town. From the tower of the 12th century
church one looks down on a town that has altered little through the
ages. Handsome Georgian buildings jostle half-timbered Tudor houses
in the cobbled streets. Today Rye is not so much a living museum as
a flourishing market town whose rich history is very much in evidence.
Glorious views, antique shops, book shops, art galleries, quaint little
tea shops and wonderful restaurants.
Leeds Castle has been described as "the most magical castle in
the world" and nestles in the heart of the Kent countryside.
Guests will be given a guided tour of this historic "fairytale"
castle and its grounds.
Canterbury
England's most famous Cathedral city. The city
has been a significant player in England's history since its beginnings
as a Roman settlement. With part of the city designated by UNESCO
as a World Heritage Site, Canterbury today is a delightful mixture
of architecture, history, arts and culture, museums, shops of every
description, visitor attractions and good restaurants and pubs. Our
tour commences at the Cathedral with the day free to explore this
delightful city.
Windsor Castle & Hampton
Court Palace
This historical tour is a "must do"
for any visitor to England and takes in two of the most important
landmarks in England's Royal record.
Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen and the largest
occupied castle in the world. A royal palace and fortress for over
900 years, the Castle remains a working palace today. Visitors can
walk around the State Apartments, extensive suites of rooms at the
heart of the working palace. They are furnished with treasures from
the Royal Collection including paintings by Holbein, Rubens, Van
Dyck and Lawrence, fine tapestries and porcelain, sculpture and
armour. In the Drawings Gallery regular exhibitions of treasures
from the Royal Library are mounted. Another popular feature is the
Queen Mary's Dolls' House, a miniature mansion built to perfection.
The fourteenth-century St. George's Chapel is the burial place of
ten sovereigns, home of the Order of the Garter, and setting for
many royal weddings.
Hampton Court Palace is "the greatest
palace in Britain". A magical history tour inside and out,
with stunning state apartments, a choice of six individual tours,
costumed guides and 60 acres of spectacular riverside gardens including
the world famous maze.
